5 Reasons Why Every Creator Needs an Email Newsletter

Hey Fellow Creator 🙋‍♂️

Finally, it’s Sunday and I can’t wait to say hi 👋

A lot has changed on Twitter, creators are complaining about a reduction in reach and more and more people are getting shadowbanned.

If you don’t know about the shadow ban, it is a way by which Twitter can restrict your account so your account is discoverable to fewer people and it limits your growth.

Can you imagine, you have built a significantly large audience and one day Twitter suspends your account?

This is true if you are

  • A YouTuber

  • Facebook Influencer

  • Instagram Influencer

  • TikTok Influencer

Yes, you can start from scratch but we don’t have to.

I am going to tell you about a great tool, which is there for years and is still relevant today.

I am talking about EMails

What is Email Newsletter

An email newsletter is like a letter that you receive in your email instead of a physical paper.

You can say it’s the modern form of Letters.

You receive 100s of emails every week, so to make sure you are constantly connected with your audience, you send the email every week or every month.

What you are reading now is my weekly email newsletter that my audience receives every Sunday.

Today, I am not going into technical details on how to set up and write an email newsletter, if you are curious to know, reply to this email.

Or, you can message me on Twitter

Why you need Email Newsletter

1. Social Platforms are Unpredictable

Let’s say, you have 2933 followers on Twitter and you don’t have their emails.

If you lost your account or your account got hacked, there is no way for you to reach your 2933 followers and tell the that you have created a new account.

But if you have their email, you can simply send them a message and update them on what happened.

And, you can get them back.

2. Scalability

I have seen a lot of people first build their brand on Twitter and then go to different platforms like LinkedIn or YouTube.

You don’t need to start from scratch if you have built a following already on one platform.

You can mail your audience that you are starting on YouTube and you will have some initial followers from day 1, how cool is that 😎

3. Connect On a Deeper Level

Sometimes 280 characters are not enough to express our thoughts on Twitter.

I know, you will say, we have Threads 🧵 for it, I get it.

But, if you see the vibe of Twitter, it is made for consuming short and fast information.

But with email, it’s different.

When you read an email, you know it is going to be long and you are prepared for it.

You can share some deep thoughts and life updates easily via email.

When someone signs up for your email newsletter, they are giving your permission to connect on a deeper level.

Emails are the best, do you agree?

4. Control Over Your Content

Every social media platform have some rules and restriction.

Recently, when I was shadow ban, my content was getting hidden from others.

People were not able to see my replies and I have no control over them.

But you have total control over emails.

You can write your heart out, be vulnerable and you can create a better relationship with your audience.

5. You Own vs You Rent

The audience you create on social media platforms is a rented audience.

Let me explain

You have created a large audience and the platform dies.

I was very active on Orkut but Google decided to shut it down.

But you own your email list.

No one can take it away from you.

6. Increased Revenue (Bonus)

If you rely on just one platform, you reduce your chances of making money online.

Email helps your increase that multifold.

If you are launching a product and need some initial feedback, ask your email subscribers.

If you personally use a product and want to share it with others, use emails.

If you are launching a product, you can promote it via email and get personalized feedback, improve your product based on your subscriber’s feedback, and later sell it to the public.

So, what’s stopping you from creating your own email newsletter? Have questions, hit me up on Twitter or just reply to this email.

Cheers!!
