Why I started writing newsletter

Have you ever felt lost? Not sure what to do next.

Have you felt like you are doing something and putting your heart and soul into it but it’s not taking you anywhere?

If you can relate to this, then my story will give you relief, that you are not alone. In fact, I spoke to many creator on Twitter and almost everyone have the same story. Some started with blogging, some with YouTube and some with Affiliate Marketing and failed.

Failure does not mean you are not worthy of something, failure is a sign of progression.

Let me quickly introduce myself

My name is Gagan Thakur. I have 2 daughters, older one is 3 years and younger one is 4 month(at the time of writing this email). I work as a Software Developer 9-5 and my wife runs an animation story YouTube channel. I am working as 9-5 from last 11 years and have been actively creating content on different platform since 5 years.

Why you should listen to me?

Fair enough, I know everyone on the internet claims to be an expert and they promise they can help you grow. Friend, I am not an expert, I have made tons of mistakes, I know what works but more importantly I know what does not work.

I have failed multiple times and succeeded few times but I never gave up. I look at life as a beautiful journey and I don’t believe in regrets. Still with me? Awesome, so let me share what I have done in last few years

1. MLM:

4 years back, I started working with an MLM(Multi Level Marketing) company. I did make some money and reached a significant level but did not got what I was promised. So I made a hard decision to stop investing my time into it.

Learning:

• Understanding their psychology

• Working with team

• Leading a team

• Soft skills

• Communication Skills

• Sales

2. Digital Marketing Internship

   I did Digital Marketing Internship under a very well known digital marketer of India, his name is Digital Deepak. I learnt many things. I love digital marketing and based on the learning I started Writing.

Learning:

• Google Ads

• Facebook Ads

• Copywriting

• Website Designing

• Email Marketing

• Search Engine Optimization

• Writing Sales Copy and blogs

3. Certified Nutritionist

   I have done my diploma in Nutrition and I am a certified nutritionist. I have coached 100s of people and helped them get to a wellness friendly lifestyle. I started promoting myself on Instagram and created a brand for myself. But, because of some family challenges, I could not continue helping my clients and there was a huge gap. I still help my family and friends but not actively doing it.

   With this newsletter, I want to share everything I know with you so this can benefit you.

4. YouTube

   I run multiple YouTube channel. I am doing YouTube since 3 years and this is still my priority. My wife helps me a lot in YouTube so I can focus on writing more 😆 

You might be thinking, why did I start writing when I had so many things already in my plate. Because I never settle.

I constantly ask myself if what I am doing is actually something that can align with who I am. I am a teacher by heart and as much as I love making money, I love to teach.

There are many ways to Teach and YouTube is of course an excellent medium and that’s why I am still doing YouTube. But I realize writing gives me joy.

I don’t follow any framework while writing, I just follow my heart and write whatever comes from within.

I have so much to share and I want to share everything with you so you don’t repeat the same mistakes I did.

Buckle up, this is going to be a very exciting ride together.
